Before Your Wax Appointment
48 hours before:
- Exfoliate gently to lift dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. Our Organic Pineapple Papaya Enzyme Powder is ideal — it dissolves dead cells without abrasion.
- Avoid self-tanner, retinoids, and AHA/BHA treatments for 72 hours prior.
- Make sure hair is at least ¼ inch (about 2 weeks of growth after shaving).
Day of:
- Arrive with clean, product-free skin.
- Avoid caffeine if you're sensitive — it can heighten sensitivity to pain.
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, especially for body and bikini services.
- Take an OTC pain reliever 30–45 minutes before if you have low pain tolerance.
During Your Appointment
Our estheticians use Organic Hybrid Wax Beads — rosin-free and formulated with shea butter, rosehip oil, and squalane. This means less trauma to the skin and significantly less post-wax irritation than traditional wax.
Communicate openly. Tell your esthetician about any skincare medications (retinol, Accutane, Differin), skin conditions, or sensitivities. We adjust our technique accordingly.
After Your Wax
First 24 hours:
- No hot showers, baths, saunas, or steam.
- No tight clothing over waxed areas.
- No sun exposure or tanning beds.
- Avoid swimming pools (chlorine) and the ocean.
- Skip working out — heat + sweat = irritation.
Days 2–5:
- Begin gentle exfoliation (3–5 days post-wax) to prevent ingrown hairs.
- Apply a thin layer of our Organic Dewy Barrier Glow Cream to waxed areas for soothing hydration.
- Stay moisturized daily.
Long-term: Regular waxing every 4–6 weeks trains the follicle. Hair grows back finer and sparser over time, and sessions become less uncomfortable. Consistency is everything.
